When the voltage falls below a pre determined level, the UPS begins to supply reserve power. Also, standby UPS systems are not always reliable since they do not provide battery monitoring functions.
2. Line interactive: These are similar to the standby systems, but offer better quality main supply input through an advanced filtering process.
3. Online / double conversion: These high-end UPS systems can rectify noisy power environment. They have a huge power storage capacity and offer a clean input supply. This can make them highly expensive.
