The Choices Of Getting A Chip For Wii
Getting a chip for Wii is the best way to release the hidden power of your Nintendo Wii. You can get a chip for Wii in a few different flavours. Either the tradional modchip or the new soft mod.
The mod chip and the soft mod achieve the same thing. Wheter you want to play back up games, make a backup of any Wii game and install homebrew applications such as the Playstation 1 emulator (Metal gear solid woo!), you can install the media centre and have access to all of your favourite films and tv shows at the click of a button.
You can choose from various mod chip for Wii, although they all do the same thing and cost in the region of $55. The biggest drawback with every mod chip for though is they are difficult to fit and you will have to pay for it to be installed which can cost upwards of $40; if you can solder you can install it yourself by taking your console apart and soldering the chip in with precision.
Dont fall for the solderless mod chip trap, you will still need to solder some wires to the board. Solderless, what a joke.
If you cant solder you should check out the soft mod chip for Wii. The HomeBreWare guys are behind the soft mod and sell it for $30 which suprisingly, is less than a game. You get an easy to follow video tutorial to install it and you dont have to get anyone else to install it for you. Its a simple process and anyone can do it without a problem.

Without doubt the easiest way to mod your Nintendo Wii is with a soft mod chip for Wii, the ease of setup and installation and how cheap it is make it a winner. I have not had a problem with my soft chip for Wii and haven't actually bought a Wii game since installing it (naughty!).
