I love the Dell Mini. I chose him to solve a $ 263 after taxes from transactions in shares of Amazon, which is more than what I pay for a netbook. I put a USB Bluetooth Dongle taken from [...] for $ 2, so now has Bluetooth capabilities, I installed Gizmo + GoogleVoice, so now my phone is VOIP, install OpenOffice, and I rake cumbersome BitDefender installed McAfee and 2010 (and laptop mode).
I do not understand why Dell is sullying their products with Windows 7 Hardware in the mini are not really able to cope with the ridiculous amount of money needed to run this OS. When you factor in Windows 7 requires 1 GB of RAM, while Windows XP requires 128 megabytes only perform essentially the same thing seems a mystery why anyone would want to load your system Windows 7 also does not help that Dell makes it almost impossible to add / update the memory . If XP was installed, probably would not have given 5 stars.

Great travel aid
We bought this unit to take along on a two-week driving vacation.
We found wifi easily in the majority of places we stayed, and this netbook served us well to check news and weather and keep up with emails while on the road. Easy to set up and use.

I took my first trip with my new Dell Mini, and yes, while it is a lot smaller than the 17" Gateway I had been traveling with, it is sooo much lighter and easier to work with. It did not take long to get adjusted to the smaller screen and how to expand the viewing area. At my age (retired) I am not into gaming or blogging, but with the built in webcam (and my model had a built in microphone) I can easily keep in contact with my grandkids who love to "see" grandpa while talking using free Skype. The Dell Mini connected with my wireless network at home immediately out of the box and I had just as easy of a connection at the hotel. I did add a mouse to it as I really hate using the "pad" (on any notebook) and it is so much easier to move the "arrow". The keyboard itself was not a problem. And when on the road and the wife wants to watch her special programs on TV, I have my own TV, which works extremely well with a very clear picture. I send and receive email everyday, check finances, enter contests, and keep up with the news on the internet, and this little honey keeps right on track with me in everything I do. It does everything I want it to do (and a whole lot more I will find out when I "play" on it a little more). I highly recommend this to everyone who does not really need 2000 page documents to carry around, like those in congress, but who just want to keep in touch and are not on a weight training schedule carrying the heavier laptops. Great little product, T.V. tuner works pretty fair (as to be expected given its size and power). Don't go in expecting full on entertainment super center, but in a pinch somewhere or just bored and want to watch local shows, or the news, it works good. Keyboard on the thing is solid and responsive. The touch pad is surprisingly easy to get used to. It doesn't take the place of a desktop, but when you're on the go and don't want to bring everything and the kitchen sink, you can't beat it for the price and performance. Amazon FTW!
